Reasons to spend your summer vacation
in Breckenridge Colorado

10. You’ve already been to DisneyWorld 5 times! You can get supersaver airfares to either Colorado Springs or Denver airports. Or drive, its a little shorter trip than driving to Orlando and makes for good family bonding.

9. Your bank account feels like you’ve been to DisneyWorld 5 times. The cost of staying a week in a fully equipped Breckenridge condo in the summer is less then most single rooms in Florida! And the daily cost of having a great time is much much lower! Plenty of opportunities just to drive to exciting new towns and scenic locations. Drive Rocky Mountain National Park. Or try inexpensive thrills you just don’t get in other parts of the country.  Rent mountain bikes and  cruise down mountain paths, ride gondolas to mountain tops, ride mountain steam driven trains, all part of a lower cost vacation than you’d imagine in those Disney-lands!

8. You feel lucky, and this is much better than a casino. Tour one of the old gold mines that put this area on the map and pan for gold. You might find it. Mining is the original reason for towns like Breckenridge. These mountain towns still have the charming historic old-west appeal, but brought up to date.

7. You think you can do better than the Jamaican Bobsled team. Unique thrills at Breckenridge. You control the speed as you ride down the mountain bobsled tubes in the summer. Excitement for all ages. Then another unique experience: send the family walking into the world’s largest maze at the bottom. See if you can get through it in less than a half hour.

6. You want to get away from the kids, but then again you don’t. Our condo has an upstairs loft area with its own bedroom and bath. The upstairs has bedding for 6 people plus its own TV. Its reached by a spiral staircase. Kids love having the loft to themselves, and you’ll love having them up there too.
Here’s another trick: we’re located next to the city park and playground. Send them over! Its good for hours.

5. You want to shop till you drop but you’ve done those malls one time too many. Walk the mile long main street of Breckenridge lined with unique stores and restaurants. Visit the extensive discount factory outlet malls of nearby Dillon.

4. You’ve ski’d Colorado every winter but you always wondered what it’s like under that snow. You’ll be amazed how beautiful these mountains look in the summer!

3. Summer humidity and misquitos are joys you can do without. Summer mountain weather is a welcome change. Enjoy warm sunny days and chilled clear starry nights. It can rain briefly in the afternoons, and moutain weather can storm suddenly, but it dries quickly, and theres always low humidity. There are few (or no) mosquitos to contend with. What a treat.

2. The waistline says you could use a little exercise, but you might as well have fun getting it. The Breckenridge Recreation Center has pools, hottubs, waterslides, indoor rock climbing, and court sports galore. Rent bikes and ride paths down the mountain, or between mountain towns.

1. You deserve a break. Lots of educational and cultural infusion possibilities in Colorado in the summer. Enjoy concerts, many free, including jazz, rock, opera, you name it. Music in amphitheatres with mountains and lake settings, with no mosquitos, brings settings you just haven’t seen in the midwest. Interest in history or geology - its all over out here if you want to look for it.

OK. THAT WASN'T FUNNY. BUT THERE'S MORE..
Scenic drives in the midwest are a bit flat. But there’s a lot of lofty scenery in the Rockys. 14,000 foot mountains abound. Ride Keystone Gondola and look down over the world. Drive through the Rocky Mountain National Park. Take family raft rides down the Colorado river through canyons and gorges. See the worlds highest suspension bridge across the gorge over the Arkansas river 1000 feet below! Ride the Georgetown Loop railroad through the mountains as miners did 100 years ago.
